Roku has both a USB port and MicroSD port to increase memory and allow for external device streaming. Roku also has many free channels and paid channels as well that you will discover is limited on Apple TV.

- It can support up to 720pixels video.
- It supports streaming radio i.e Pandora.
- The design is small and simple but the Fabric tag belongs more on a T-shirt then a streaming player
- It only uses 2 watts of Electric power even when it is playing HD video.
- Simple user interface which is really simple to customize.
- Connects to ANY TV with HDMI up to 1080p, component video and composite.
- You can stream content via a USB port or external hard drive.

Apple Tv is also a very good streaming player put together by none other then Apple of course. It’s designed to play digital contents from itunes store , Netflix , youtube , Flickr , MobileMe , MLB.TV , NBA leauge pass or any Mac and windows Computer Itunes.
Apple offered this device in september 2006.Initially it has 40 GB of Hard Disk.After two months it introduced new device which has 160 GB of Hard Disk memory.After this Model the previous Model was ultimately discontinued.
In September 2010 Apple announced a second generation Version of Apple TV. Which was about one quarter of size and its price is three times less than the original apple tv.
This new device is able to run programs from itunes and videos from the computer or iphone operating system Via Airplay.This new version have 8GB of flash storage.

- Apple TV can display pictures from Flickr and MobileMe in a slide show.

Roku VS Apple TV: Which is Better ?
As compared to price Roku is butter than the Apple TV because the price of the Apple TV is 99$ and you can pick up a Roku for as little as 59.99$ which is a major difference.
Roku has free internet radio while Apple TV does not. Roku has over 100 tv channels available with more added all time while Apple TV does not . Roku offers free internet Radio while Apple only offers Itunes.
Roku also plays 1080p video while Apple TV is limited to 720p. Roku has the USB port which allows you to play external content via a USB device or external har drive while Apple TV does not have that features.
Based on the video above and the features described in my opinion Roku is a better choice to get with if you are looking to have a complete entertainment system at an affordable price.
